Morristown, NJ – August 19, 2009 – Sapien LLC, the on-demand HR services company that combines transactional and strategic HR in one global solution, today announced that it has been selected as the Global HR Solution by an investment affiliate of J.F. Lehman & Company as it completes the acquisition of Drew Marine. Drew Marine is a recognized global leader in the supply of chemicals, products, equipment, and services for applications including water treatment, fuel treatment, maintenance, welding and related gases and consumables, refrigeration, and fire and rescue safety to large vessels, shipyards and other maritime customers.

Headquartered in Boonton, NJ with regional offices in locations including Singapore and Rotterdam, Drew Marine has approximately 98 stocking locations in 48 countries. Sapien will provide the company with HRMS, global benefits administration services, and full Human Resources Augmentation services on a global basis.

Accustomed to working in an HR environment that operated with multiple providers on a country by country basis, Drew Marine and its new owners selected Sapien because of its ability to provide a total solution across its global network. In addition, only Sapien could provide the breadth of services required by the company and be fully operational with Global HRMS by September 1.

According to James Boyko, Sapien SVP of Sales, “Sapien has built a significant business on our ability to address the needs of midsize multinational companies, providing global services, languages, currencies and reporting capabilities on one integrated, on-demand platform.” He added, “Drew Marine met that profile perfectly allowing Sapien to leverage the value of our full solution, including the combination of our software, our augmentation capabilities, and our global reach and speed to market.”

Commenting on the selection of Sapien, Managing Partner Ryan Tweedie said, “There is nothing in our business that is more gratifying than being recognized as the right HR solution for a global customer. We are honored to have been selected, and to have this new divestiture join the community of other newly-divested midmarket globals that have selected Sapien in the past year.”

The divestiture is slated to close on August 31, 2009. Sapien HRMS will be fully functional at time of closing.
