Performance Management
Tools are available to automate Performance Planning with manager/employee input to collect objectives, ratings, and goals to promote collaboration of all in the process. Additional functionality includes historic plan maintenance, integration of succession and development into Performance and cascading objectives, and the ability to align individual objectives with position and organizational goals. Via integrated workflow and appraisal templates, you can route performance plans to all interested parties for group discussion, approval, and feedback for matrix organizations.

Competencies & Skills
Building a competency based organization is critical to effectively benchmark and measure talent management initiatives. Sapien functionality includes maintenance of competency profiles for people, positions, and entities, graphical comparison of competencies with target positions, Gap Analysis to highlight and link development needs, and 'best fit' competency analysis to support selection. Tools are available to assess trends and developments in competency levels over time and via multi-rater relationships. Management can ensure the talent pool is aligned with core competencies and manage competency inventories. Using similar functionality, Skills ranging from core, essential, and position, entity, and project requirement can be tracked, analyzed, and reported against to staff projects and enterprise objectives. Certifications, accreditations, language skills, project experience, etc. can also be tracked. At the lower levels of the organization, having effective tools for employees and mangers to track employee career plans improves retention and the talent pool. Functionality includes the ability to track aspirations, next planned positions both self-appointed and manager designated, training activities, and projects. Career Management can be integrated with all other HRMS and HCM functionality.

Management Development
For leadership within the organization, Sapien.HCM Edition offers the ability to track high-level management and leadership development data. The ability to manage multiple Individual Development Plans (IDP's) for employees allows you to track projects, development activities, assignment and other configurable elements to target certain business objectives. IDP's can be tracked with competencies as well as for succession planning and performance activities.

Training Administration
Sapien offers a full suite of Training Administration capabilities to track the progress of your employees and manage the logistics of a training plan. Functionality includes a library of training activities available, catalog of internal and external training courses including training providers, skills addressed, pre-requisites, facilities and equipment required, costs and venues, ability to attach documents such as standard itineraries and directions and course offerings. Scheduling, cancellation management, wait listing, and logistic planning is handled with Sapien's configurable workflow engine. Training needs assessment is also available and integrated into career planning. The Sapien workflow engine automatically generates all correspondence for the entire training process and administration.

Recruitment
Sapien.HCM Edition offers a fully functional Recruitment and Applicant tracking service to manage the open internal positions with external candidates from multiple sources. Functionality includes job requisition, competency and skills profiling, job posting, applicant database with attachments, applicant search and screening, and full applicant contact and interview records with workflow. Additional workflow and reporting allows for applicant source and agency reporting and analysis. Using Sapien's XML data integration engine, integration with career sites, both internal and external, can be easily set up. Sapien also offers comprehensive Resume Parsing capability fully integrated into our Recruiting and ATS module.

Compensation Planning
A compensation planning tool is available on the Sapien platform to manage anniversary, focal, variable pay, and sales promotion functionality. The tool replaces multiple spreadsheets and massive e-mail traffic with a single, easy to manage service that is available enterprise-wide. Sapien.HCM Edition removes high administrative overheads, data fragmentation and opportunity for error. Reviewing managers are provided with a browser based interface that is exceptionally easy to use, increasing manager productivity and reducing reliance on labor intensive support. Multi-Rater data can be captured historically, reported against, and compared using Gap-Analysis tools. 360 Feedback reports can be configured per your process and, using Sapien’s workflow engine, disseminated to the correct people.
