Sapien Human Resources Augmentation (HRA)
At its core, traditional HR outsourcing promises improved efficiency by handling administrative activities, enabling companies to focus on strategy development and core business functions. Implemented properly, many companies have benefited from this practice. However, too many instances of unsuccessful implementation led Sapien to examine the reasons, and ultimately determine that failures resulted from not recognizing the inherent “insourcing” requirements of outsourcing.
Sapien concluded that many companies, while using the catch-phrase ”outsourcing”, were actually ceding total responsibility to their vendors, resulting in performance gaps, poor service quality, vendor oversight issues and ultimately, failed implementations. What these companies failed to realize was that their own services needed “augmenting” rather than “outsourcing”. In October 2007, Sapien introduced the industry’s first Human Resources Augmentation (HRA) service.
An alternative to traditional HRO, Sapien HRA works with a designated HR Administrator in every client organization, augmenting the services of the department rather than usurping the responsibilities of the department. Working with this “insource”, Sapien identifies clear roles and responsibilities for itself and its client company. The combination enables HRA clients to realize their vision/direction while leveraging the augmented expertise in global administrative processing that most organizations lack to propel/complete major HR initiatives. Available on a 24/6/365 basis, Sapien HRA professionals work with client organizations to lead, implement and trouble-shoot globally.
The 12-person Sapien HRA team (US and Australia) assists with functions ranging from new hire processing to terminations, leaves of absence, position changes, absence administration, total global benefits administration and more. Effectively streamlining HR processes, reducing time and paperwork, and maximizing efficiency, HRA clients are assigned dedicated Account Specialists to give them the benefit of experienced, certified professionals (PHR) with HR industry knowledge as well as HR technology expertise to effectively augment and contribute to their HR goals.
Power/Super User Support:
Sapien offers outsource personal to replace customer internal HRIT resources required for internal support and advanced usage. This is especially useful in situation in which customers have made a decision to outsource all HR functions beyond technology. Common tasks including but not limited to adding users/roles, changing security, form painting, ad-hoc reports, workflow setup and maintenance, etc. can be completely outsourced to Sapien’s knowledgeable staff.
