Payroll
Sapien provides a full suite of tools to manage your organizations payroll with full integration to your Sapien.HRMS Edition service. Payroll can be tracked, updated, and run using any number of configurable and parameterized pay plans. Payroll can be exported, incrementally, to other payroll providers like ADP, Ceridian, or Paychex. Sapien also has pre-configured payroll templates for various countries. Payroll groups, frequencies, deductions, contributions, can all be managed within Sapien along with any relevant absenteeism data and then simply exported under your control to any payroll processor worldwide. Benefits
Provided are a full range of tools to manage different benefit plans, which can be configured and parameterized including but not limited to pension, 401K, COBRA, FMLA, medical, dental, vision, and reward programs. Self-Service allows for employees to update and enroll their benefit information driven by configurable eligibility rules. Sapien.HRMS allows for data to be incrementally forwarded to various benefit plan providers to assist in automating back-office activities. Through Sapien’s benefit outsourcing partner, Coastal Financial, Sapien offers competitive benefit packages, plan comparison software and consulting, and full Benefits Administration like COBRA administration for example.

Absenteeism
Functionality is available to manage any number of different Absenteeism plans including vacation, sickness, personal, mandatory, maternity, FMLA, etc. All plans can be tracked both administratively and via the self-service and manager roles. All plans can be configured and parameterized to match your organizational needs.

Employee Information
All employee information can be easily tracked and reported against. Custom fields of data can easily be added and configured. Dozens of canned reports are available across all areas of functionality and the search/query capability enables quick acquisition of data. Data areas include, but are not limited to personal information, work history, disciplinary items, skills, competencies, career planning, appraisals, performance, training, health and safety incidents, succession planning, and more.

Health and Safety
Various data around Health and Safety can be tracked historically for all employees in the organization. Unique Health and Safety plans can be configured, and rolled out to employees or organizational units. Reporting for legal or organizational compliance is easily achieved.

Compliance
Compliance information can be collected, queried on, and reported using Sapien.HRMS Edition tools. Specific batch and demographic reporting can be configured for your organization’s filing. All data can be easily and carefully secured and collected.

Authoring and narrative tools are available to either build or import/configure company handbooks, policies, and procedures. Linking to existing HR portals/intranets is also available via Sapien’s integration tools.

Position Information
Sapien is an employee, position, and organizational unit based tool, allowing you to carefully track the different functions, cost centers, departments, units, job families, operating companies, etc. with respect to the positions that define them. Position information such as competencies, skills, and training requirements, multiple incumbents, position incumbent history, matrix reporting relationships, and workforce planning can be tracked.

Integrated Organizational Charting
There's no faster or more effective way to visualize the shape of your business. Organizational charts help you think more intuitively and strategically about how structural changes such as promotions, mergers, downsizing and acquisitions might affect your organization. As organizations become increasingly more complex, they need a flexible, powerful charting tool to display organization data including succession planning, staffing, EEO, head count, compensation planning, and corporate directories. Organizational charts are also useful tools for hierarchy management and position control.

ESS/MSS
The Sapien.HRMS Edition Self-Service functionality extends the use of your service beyond the HR department, enabling everyone in the organization to participate. The intuitive Self-Service interface ensures that users can quickly access information and complete tasks with little or no training. Clear on-screen help and links to ‘how to’ documents provide all the assistance that’s needed. Manager Self Service further extends the use of the system allowing Manager to use more sophisticated tools such as Query/Search and Reporting in the Self Service interface. The Sapien workflow engine can be easily configured to drive process, authorizations, etc. in ESS and MSS.

Discipline and Grievances
Disciplinary actions and Grievance submission can be tracked within the service. Case management and the ability to historically log, query, and report against activities are available. Tracking such data is critical to managing the realities of any enterprise. Appropriate reporting can be achieved on a regular basis to achieve compliance both legally and within organization guidelines.

Through Sapien’s partner, SkillSurvey, provided is an online reference checking solution that is quickly replacing phone-based reference checks. Our web-based solution enables recruiters to efficiently and effectively acquire complete, confidential and candid feedback regarding a job candidate's skills and behaviors from multiple professional references. This is information that is extremely difficult to acquire via phone but can make a big difference in quality of hire. And, it makes recruiters more productive by eliminating wasted time on reference check phone calls.
With workplace violence, fraud, and regulatory pressure on the rise, validating that individuals are who they present themselves to be is becoming increasingly important for many organizations. By leveraging advanced search technology, our massive in-house criminal and licensure records database, though our partner, Verified Person, and nationwide court runner network access, Verified Person can help you to ensure a safe, compliant environment for your workforce, customers, and communities. M&A and Divestures
Sapien offers a rapidly deployed toolset to aggregate employee populations along with all relevant HR data from disparate platforms such that merging entities can very quickly create org charts, headcounts, and other critical HR data that needs to be reported against and inventoried. In a divesture situation, Sapien can migrate data from an existing ERP/HRIS platform in ten days and then in the next 50 days create new payroll conduits, deploy global HRMS and HCM, thus relieving divesting properties of expensive TSA agreements, lack of HR and IT infrastructure, and ensuring everyone is paid and is receiving benefits properly on ‘day one’.
